Yes that's right, Quer, and not Queer!
Sorry for the bad language, and sorry for not reviewing and posting for sometime now.

Let's have a fresh start this year, and let's start with an interesting website that I stumbled upon (and I do that a lot actually).

There is no specific technical category for Quertime.
It is full of articles that you will for sure find both interesting and useful.

Quertime says it provides useful websites, tools, tips, tools, and freebies.

you can find articles such as "13 Tips to Extend Your Smartphone Battery Life "

or " 9 Online Tools to Create Custom Maps and Get Directions" .

But personally, I find articles that provide lists  as the last one mentioned above, to be what you find most on Quertime.com.

So, I recommend liking their Facebook page, so you can follow them up, I'm sure you'll find lots of interesting technical stuff.

Make Use Of

Love the title?
You might ask: "Make Use of what?".
Well, make use of the technology of course! (this is a technical blog, remember?).


One of the coolest resources on the web!


I came across it when I was looking for gaming resources.


MakeUseOf is more of a resource that contains ways and guides to how to use technology, not how to build it.


For example, the article that I came across on MakeUseOf introduced platforms for building games that I didn't hear of, but I didn't find an article that contains programming or developing tips.


It also contains news, tips, some Geeky fun stuff, and the best part in my opinion, the "Guides".

Infinite USB memory

Sounds like a dream?

Let's say that you are a Torrent maniac, you just can't stop downloading all these movies, songs, TV shows etc.

You end up with Giga, if not Tera, bytes of data that you just don't know where to store!

You might try burning DVD's, but then you shall have to buy special furniture to keep stored and unscratched.

You might buy multiple external hard drives, and fill them up one by one.

Sounds crazy? or may be it sounds like a bad dream?

Actually, this is a reality that I witness with many of my friends.

So what to do?

one of my favorite TV shows introduced an interesting gadget, the "infinite USB memory".

Looks much like a USB flash memory stick, but actually doesn't have any memory on it.

It has a full computer hardware (it has its own CPU, RAM, WiFi..etc.).

What you do with it is first pair it with your laptop (a one time set up procedure), then plug it into your DVD player, TV, or just any device that has a USB port.

The infinite USB memory then uses every storage device that can be accessed from your lap top as its storage capacity (this includes your laptop's hard drive, external hard disks, or any other computer or server that can be accessed by your computer).

You can of course control the capacity, and the files that want to share with this memory.

Useful Google tips and tricks

This was published on the Google fan page on Facebook.
It reminds me with the old "Google Cheat Sheet", where certain words, if mentioned in the search box, can bring you targeted results.
These words were listed in the cheat sheet.
I remember, for example, the inurl word, if you enter inurl:techfountains it will list the websites/pages that have techfountains in their URL. (try it out).

the title, and the domain name, are both cool! it's "Idea Shower"

Windows tips for every body

This is what I call a light useful resource.

http://xptweak.net/  is all about windows, majorly for normal (non-advanced) users.

Full of useful tips for Windows, office (that includes Excel, Word,...etc.), and other popular Windows software such as FireFox browser.

It's kind of neat, enjoy it :)

From a TV addict

What am I saying? most of us are TV addicts!
There is at least on TV show for each person on earth.
As all electronics do, TV evolved, and new technologies emerged just to add more entertainment to your living room.

Years ago, what is so called HDTV (High Definition TeleVision) slim, and elegant devices that are light weight, have amazing images, and kind of multi-use (I use mine as  a monitor for my mini Mac), and you can mount it almost everywhere (on top of your bed if you want!).

It is some times interesting to know how these elegant babies work, and to read tips and tricks, and sometimes guides if you're shopping for a new HDTV (weather it's plasma or LCD).

Too many Mac resources for you?
Well, I guess the more the merrier! (how lame was that? may be not).

think mac is another amazing mac and other Apple products resource.

The landing (home) page is their blog where you can mostly find Apple products news, a link to their pod casts, subscription link to RSS ...etc.

One remarkable page on this site is the "Holiday Picks " , it's like an online store containing Apple related products that can be presented as gifts.

Hardware Register is the kind of site that you will like if you were a tech savvy, or if you're addicted to gadgets and new technical trends.

It provides reviews, news flashes, a place where you can do your tech shopping, the "Hands On" corner, which is amazingly informative, and of course, the downloads section, lots of freeware, shareware, drivers, and lots more.

I was so happy when I spotted an interview in the "Small Talk" corner with "Stephen Wolfram" (the inventor of Mathematica and the author of "a new kind of science"). i'm a big fan of the man!

Is Google The New Microsoft ?

That's not what I'm writing about, this is a header that I bumped into when I landed on the homepage of http://www.infoworld.com/

It is similar to some of the tech news web sites that I reviewed.
It is full of tech news, yet it also contains white papers, a sweet test center, web casts, blogs, and a "Deep Dives" tab that discusses subjects such as "Cloud computing" in a deep dive manner.
